The desperate search for a stroker: Maxi Gomez ?

It's clear that we need a striker and chances are we might actually, finally last one in the transfer window regardless of what competitions we may or may not be competing in next year.
We've previously been linked with a move for Maxi Gomez but at the times it seemed he wanted to stay in Spain and play for Valencia over West Ham.
Personally, I don't blame him. Valencia are a big club and I'm sure they were in the Champions League when he signed for them so for me it shoes that it's not just about the money for Gomez.
However, since his move, Valencia find themselves on the verge of a financial collapse and pretty much anyone of value is availalbe for the right price.
There is a player in there although he's not shown that so much since he joined Valenica, but at 24 years old we might be able to get a decent striker without paying the Ł30-Ł40m plus that is either getting us the wrong players or is not getting us anywhere.
Of course, that is if he fits in to Moyes profile that he is looking for?

I'd rather take a punt on Armstrong at Blackburn Rovers.
We know what players like him who come from the championship are like. He won't cost 30-40 mil.

Sturridge - will never be fit
Costa - yes
Bony - will never be fit (in a different way)
I'd love us to get Costa, but unless he'll play for used porn/Krays DVDs I'd say it won't happen.

Sturridge
Costa
Bony
Has to be worth a look even if just to make up the numbers and see out some games for the last 20mins.
Bony to hold the ball up and beat up defenders has to be worth a look.

We're not going to get a striker. Particularly after Sunday's performance, we will believe that we can make do to the end of the season with a combination of a partially fit Antonio and Lingard. Shit that we're in this position but players out of contract tend to be out of contract for a reason so would rather save the money for summer purchases (HA HA HA HA!!)
